Both the Blue Album and Pinkerton are now frequently cited among the best albums of the s. Following the tour for Pinkerton , bassist Matt Sharp left the band and Weezer went on hiatus. Van Weezer is the upcoming fourteenth studio album by American rock band Weezer , set to be released on May 7, by Crush Music and Atlantic Records.
